Nestled away on the western side of the Bristol Peninsula in Midcoast Maine in the tiny village of Walpole you will find  Clark’s Cove Farm & Inn. We are an 81 acre estate with 30 acres of groomed, rolling meadows and lawns, flowing perennial gardens, 51 acres of woods complete with trails, a 6 acre 500 tree apple orchard and over 700  feet of fresh water frontage. It is said by many to be the pastoral jewel of Midcoast Maine.

Seated upon a ridge, a 1790 Federal style home and a Circa 1860’s barn complete with an 840 square foot deck command a breathtaking vista reminiscent of a Hudson period painting. The old cider mill in the barn has been refitted into two tastefully appointed apartments complete with all the amenities required for a peaceful retreat and may be rented by the night or by the week. Our barn offers 2,000 square feet of floor space to host your event. The barn kitchen, equipped with a professional grade Garland stove, will meet the needs of the most demanding caterer. The grounds and gardens are impeccably manicured and enclosed by field stone walls that suggest the ambience of Wales in times past. We believe that this is truly a magical setting to host any event destined to be memorable and an unmatched retreat destination that will stop time.

Wander through the gardens, explore the miles of freshly cut trails, gaze thru the window on the covered bridge and watch the water rush (in the spring), kayak or canoe, take a nap in the hammock waters edge, fish for large mouth bass, paint, bird watch .. just breathe.

We encourage you to browse our website and to view the slideshow and video to capture a glimpse of what it is all about.

Again, our thanks for considering Clark’s Cove Farm & Inn

MEET THE TEAM

Our Team at the Farm  ~  An Eclectic Group of Talented, Dedicated Folks

Tim Cheney

Owner

Tim bought Clark’s Cove Farm in 1997 after spending the night in the Orchard Suite and falling in love with the property. He knew nothing about apples and lived 289 miles away in New Haven, CT. In 2002,  he retired and moved to Maine. He also owns a home in Florida and flees south when it gets too cold.

John Smith

Farm Manager

John joined the farm in 2001 and has played a key role in carrying out Tim’s vision for developing  the property and transforming the orchard into a vibrant pomological masterpiece an a series of magical settings. His meticulous attention to detail in refitting the cider room earned Clark’s Cove Farm the designation of the cleanest cider room in Maine. In his spare time, he built the first covered bridge in Maine since 1999, a gym, a sheep house, a chicken house, an artist studio,  a workshop and a beautiful barn (in the winter) near the north orchard.

Darcy Fraser

Landscaper Extraordinaire

A non denominational deity sent Darcy to the Farm in 2009 to become our  landscaper.  Rain or shine, hot or cold, Darcy gets it done beautifully on time, every time with a smile on her face. Each year the existing gardens look better and each year she plays a vital role in transforming the landscape with new gardens and plantings. She also is an amazing apple picker  and the trees love her as she takes only the apples.
